Moose lose to Champs 5-0

The Memorial Cup Champs showed tonight why they are the favorites to repeat as QMJHL Champions again this season in front of 8,201 at the Metro Centre.  The Sea Dogs coasted to a 5-0 win with goals from Tomas Jurco (2), Jonathan Huberdeau, Danick Gauthier and Scott Oke on Pink in the Rink IV with the Mooseheads.  It was a frustrating night for the Herd and their fans as they just couldn't seem to get anything going against the Sea Dogs.  Former Moose Mathieu Corbeil picked up the shutout stopping 18 shots.

The Mooseheads wore special pink jerseys to this game that were raffled off following the event.  Twenty lucky winners received autographed game worn Mooseheads pink jerseys.  The Mooseheads would like to again thank their fans for their tremendous support of this event.  A total raised will be announced in the coming days.

The Mooseheads will not have much time to dwell on this loss as they are back at it tomorrow night at the Metro Centre vs Patrick Roy's Quebec Remparts at 7pm.  For ticket to see Patrick Roy, Mikhail Grigorenko and the Quebec Remparts take on your Mooseheads, visit the Ticket Atlantic Box Office, select Superstore Outlets, or charge by phone 451-1221.

Wouldn't it be nice to have that type of defense in front of our goalie, still a week part of our team.

theres about 5things wrong with that statement you just said merv, corbeil has improved tremendously. hes making saves he wasnt doing that in halifax. if you knew anything about the game directing easy shots from the point into the corner is what they are tought from a young age, we win the mem cup pres and the kid still gets no credit look at his stats in playoffs and mem cup , but where exaclly is st john?

The "local media" naming Corbeil first star of the game is proof positive that they nothing about hockey! Corbeil hasn't change a bit in his ability to control a shot on him. The only difference is the powerful team in front of him, a pilon in net would have still given St John a win!
