Moose lose thriller 4-3 in Shootout to Saint John

An energetic 5880 fans got a taste Friday night of the start of what could be a very heated, entertaining rivalry for years to come between the Saint John Sea Dogs and your Halifax Mooseheads.  Two teams loaded with a core of young talented stars lined up against each other and put on a show at the Metro Centre. The Sea Dogs, who boast young stars such as Tomas Jurco, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Nathan Beaulieu among others, proved too be the better team on this night winning 4-3 in a shootout with Huberdeau picking up the winner.  The young Moose played a strong game in the loss where they welcomed back the Black 3rd jersey.  Carl Gelinas with 2, and Martin Frk scored for the Mooseheads.  Frk also was the lone goal scorer for the Moose in the shootout.  Mathieu Corbeil was solid in goal making 34 saves.

The Mooseheads return to action Sunday when the PEI Rocket fly into Moose Country for a 2pm affair with the Mooseheads.  For tickets to Sunday's tilt with the PEI Rocket, visit the Ticket Atlantic Box Office, select Superstore Outlets, www.ticketatlantic.com or charge by phone 451-1221.
