Moose lose Heartbreaker in Game 7
The Mooseheads lost 3-2 to the Val-d'Or Foreurs Tuesday night in Game 7 before a capacity crowd of 10,595 fans at the Metro Centre. Phil Gadoury and Nik Ehlers scored for the Moose, who trailed 1-0 early before scoring 2 goals of their own. The Foreurs would add two goals in the 2nd period for a 3-2 lead which would eventually hold up despite a full onslaught of shots from the Mooseheads pressing to tie the game. The Herd outshot the Foreurs 41-16, including 30-7 in the final 2 periods, but they could not get one by Antoine Bibeau, who was tremendous in goal for the Foreurs.
The Mooseheads Organization would like to congratulate the Val-d'Or Foreurs on a hard-fought series and wish them best of luck in the President Cup finals.
The Mooseheads would also like to thank our graduating 20 year olds; Brent Andrews, Brendan Duke and Darcy Ashley. These 3 young men grew up in our Organization and dedicated a lot of their time to bettering our Organization and the community of Halifax. They will be missed.
Finally, the Mooseheads would like to thank the over 353,000 Mooseheads fans that attended games during the regular season and playoffs in 2013-14. Appropriate that in our 20th anniversary season, our fans show Canada that major junior hockey has never been more alive than in Moose Country. Thanks and Go Moose Go!
