Desi tricks Olympiques

Gabriel Desjardins came to play in a big way Friday night at the Metro Centre. The 4th year Mooseheads forward recorded a natural hat trick and drew a key penalty to secure a 5-3 Mooseheads win over the always-tough Gatineau Olympiques.
The Herd jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 2 periods on Desjardins hat trick only to have the Olympiques tie it up at 3 six minutes into the 3rd period. Andrew Ryan would score the winner with 8 minutes to play, while Matt Boudreau would add an insurance marker on the powerplay. The Moose received the powerplay after Desjardins drove the net with 3 minutes to play causing a Olympiques player to haul him down. Rookie Zach Fucale was again solid when called upon making 19 saves for the victory.
With the win the Mooseheads improve to 18-7-1-2 on the season. The Herd host the Quebec Remparts in a rubber match for the season series.
