The Halifax Mooseheads and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada lead all Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams with four players apiece on the Team QMJHL roster for the 2012 Subway Super Series.
Goaltender Zach Fucale and forwards Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin and Brent Andrews made the team for games against a squad of Russian all-stars on Nov. 5 in Boisbriand, Que., and Nov. 7 in Val-d’Or, Que.
Cape Breton forward William Carrier also made the 25-man roster, released Tuesday by the Canadian Hockey League. He was the lone Screaming Eagle selected.
MacKinnon has tallied a team-leading 17 points in 10 games, while Drouin, who’s currently injured, has 15 points in seven games. Andrews, a two-way forward, has collected three goals and three assists in 10 games.
Fucale has posted a 7-1 record with a 2.22 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.
Carrier tops all Cape Breton players with 17 points in 11 games.
Rouyn-Noranda Huskies coach Andre Tourigny will handle coaching duties for both Team QMJHL games against the Russian national junior team.
Team OHL and Team WHL will also play two games apiece against the Russians over the six-game series. The CHL has won the series in eight of the last nine years.
